Appalachian LCC Launches New Community Web Portal

Our new Content Management System (CMS) will provide up-to-date news and information to members, partners, and the general public about the Appalachian LCC’s work, ongoing projects, new products, and publications.

It also allows members to share news, upload and store data and resources, search for expertise through our expert’s database, join private workgroup spaces to share preliminary data or products, coordinate tasks, and communicate with colleagues.

To join our community, register here; www.applcc.org/request_login.

For those already members of our community, your login names and profiles from our current website have been transferred to the new portal’s Searchable Experts Database that we hope will help link you to other experts in different communities of practice. You will be receiving a new password via email shortly. After you login, you can edit your personal profile by clicking on the Members Tab, Searching for your Name, and clicking the Edit tab; http://www.applcc.org/Members

Once logged in, members can peruse the site and begin to share content. We encourage sharing to the Resource Section including your webinars, scientific publications, and map products as well as to the News and Event Sections. Group Workspaces are up and running to provide a platform for members to communicate with one another, share files and documents, and coordinate assignments related to specific efforts.

Visit the Help section for a more detailed overview on how this Content Management System works and how to add content, so members can get the most out of this system; www.applcc.org/help
