Peter is the Chief Operating Office at the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities, Inc. He received a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of Georgia in 1989, working at the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory, and a B.S. in Biology from Furman University (1981). His work at the Endowment focuses on working forest retention and conservation of forested watersheds. Peter works closely with the USDA Forest Service, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Defense, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, as well as many state agencies and private organizations, on these issues.
