Jason Hangar

Hangar, Jason

Jason has served as the Rivers and Streams Program Coordinator with the Fisheries Divi- sion since 2008. His experience spans a wide variety of aquatic habitats and species, rang- ing from brook trout to lake sturgeon. Prior to joining the TWRA, he worked as a sheries biologist for Texas Parks and Wildlife Depart- ment. ere he managed reservoir sport sh populations and served on a technical commit- tee for Texas’ Neighborhood Fishing program.

While earning his master’s degree in Fisheries Management from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Jason also worked as a research technician for the Tennessee Cooperative Research Unit. He earned his undergraduate degree in Natural Resources Management from East Tennessee State Uni- versity in Johnson City.
